June 9,p.:Sarah Jane (Arnold) Island - Stricken with paralysis three weeks before her death, Mrs. Sarah Jane Arnold Island, wife of Dr. R.L. Island, formerly of Rosemont and Orangeville, died at Strachan House, Queen St., west, Toronto, on Thursday, May 26th, at the age of 75 years. The late Mrs. Island, who was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Arnold, was born at Ivy and was the oldest of a family of twelve, ten of whom are still living. Theses are five brothers and five sisters, namely, Mrs. Chas. Banting, Barrie, Mrs. Geo. Halbert and Mrs. Thos. Whiteside, Alliston, Mrs. Geo. Davis, Ivy, Mrs. Stephen mills, Orangeville, John Arnold, Alliston, George Arnold, Painswick, Herbert, Lefroy, and Jas T. and Fred, Ivy.
The late Mrs. Island, who had lived in Toronto for twenty years, was a member of the Anglican church, and had always been an active church and Sunday School worker. She also took a keen interest in medical work and was a great assistance to her husband in his profession. She was a life member of the W.A. and had attended St. Stephen's church since going to Toronto. Her loss is mourned by her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Mabel Verral, Toronto, and also the sisters and brothers. Interment took place in Prospect Cemetery, Toronto, on Monday afternoon, May 30th. Many beautiful flowers conveyed the assurance of the sorrow and sympathy of friends.

July 7,p.?: Helen (Cameron) Lemon - Early on Thursday morning, June 30th, at her home lot 18, 2nd line, west, Mono, death came to Helen Cameron widow of the late William Lemon, of Mono. Deceased, who was in her 86th year, was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Cameron, of Caledon. Mrs. Lemon was of a quiet, retiring disposition, but until recent years, when she was confined to her home by illness, had spent a beautiful, useful and active life, both in her home and the community. She leaves to mourn her loss two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Herbert Laidlaw, South Pasadena, Cal., Wilfrid, Orangeville, Mrs. Jno. Anderson, 2nd line, Amaranth, and Cameron, at home. Two sisters and brother also survive namely, Mrs. Long, Erin, Mrs. Wm. White, Orangeville, and Duncan Cameron, Alton. The funeral was held to the Forest Lawn Cemetery on Saturday afternoon. The pallbearers were Messrs. Charles Sinclair, William White,John Little, William Buchanan, Maura McNaughton and W.A. Henry. The floral tributes included a pillow from the family; anchor, Mrs. and Mrs. Fred Sinclair and family; sprays, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. White, Mrs. Smith; baskets, Mr and Mrs. D. A. Cameron, Florence Sinclair, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Buchanan and Belle Buchanan, St. Andrew's Chruch, Camilla, St. Andrew's W.A., Camilla Women's Institute and Camilla U.F.O.

April 21,p:Thos. E. Sawyers - Thomas Edward Sawyers, a well-known and highly respected resident of Mulmur Township, passed away at his home, west half lot 4, con. 3, on Sunday, March 27th, 1932, in his 55th year. Deceased was born in Mulmur, being a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Sawyers, pioneer settlers, and had spent all his life in the township, the last twenty-two years on the farm on which he died. The cause of death was a relapse following an attack of the flu.
Deceased was a kind and loving husband and father and had many friends. He is survived by his wife (formerly Miss Margaret Ann Armstrong) and six daughters: Mrs. Harvey Richardson, Mulmur Lake; Mrs. Alfred Thompson, Primrose; Mrs. Alva Pendleton, Rosemont; Lena, Lillian and Minnie, at home. Three brothers and one sister also survive; Abraham Sawyers, Kirkland Lake; James, Mansfield; Robert, Creemore; Mrs. John Leslie, Lisle. Interment took place inn Mansfield Cemetery Tuesday afternoon, March 29th, service at the late home being followed by service in Mansfield Presbyterian Church, conducted by Rev. G.L. Gray, of Rosemont. The pallbearers were: Robert Thistle, David Sherman, Alonzi Parson, Henry Dudgeon, William New ton, James Sawyers, Harvey Leslie, Wilbert Haddock, Elwin Duncan. The floral tributes were: Pillow, wife and family; basket, brothers and sister; spray, grandchildren; spray, pupils S.S. No.2, Violet Hill; spray, Miss Clara Pickett, Toronto; spray, the Misses Cauther (nieces), Collingwood; spray, Mr. and Mrs. S. Kunkes, Shelburne. --- Economist.
