KETCHUM

March 7,p.3:Dr. John Ketchum - Dr. John Ketchum, of Central Park, Buffalo, NY, died last week at the age of 84 years. His father Zebulon Ketchum, was one of the eight original settler of Buffalo. His two brothers, Henry Clinton and Oliver Cromwell Ketchum, were also among the originals. All were given large grants of land, where the city now stands, by the State of New York. Oliver Cromwell Ketchum was killed by the Indians in the war of 1812, leaving no descendants. The descendants of Henry Clinton are in Laredo, Texas. Dr. John's only son is at Los Angeles, Cal. In 1861 Dr. Ketchum married Adele de Fleur a daughter of the Baron de Fleur and Elizabeth Sherburne. An Orangeville street down near the Credit bears the name Sherburne in compliment to the grandmother of Adele, who was visiting her brother, Mr. Jesse Ketchum, here, when the North Ward was being surveyed.
