This Oakland home has recently been purchased and the new owner would like to find out its history.
It was owned by the Yarek Family from the 1940's until the 1990's

Located on Lot 5 Concession 6, St George
Bev Golden is a Ward Decendent and wonders if the home still exists
The home of Isaac Birdsell Merritt and Louisa Kelly, Built about 1865
Photo Taken approx 1910, resident at that time and shown were Fred Vivian ( brother of Payson Vivian who owned Vivian's mill at Oakland) and his wife, also shown is their hiredman ( name unknown).
This house was purchased in 1914 by the Shepherd Family and is currently the home of John Shepherd, current photo is shown below
62 Marlborough Street. Brantford Ontario It was built about 1875
according to the Brantford Heritage Society.
The wooden house was the first Home for Peter Vansickle and his wife Samantha Vansickle(nee:Kelly)It was located on St.George Road.Second picture replaced the wooden shack.From my under standing the wooden shack was still standing in 1901. The wooden shack was built in around 1835-1840.It sat on the farm on the highest point of the property.Tim Horton Foundation own the Land now.
The second Vansickle house was build around 1870. Tim Horton Foundation own the Land now.
