SCOTT I'm trying to find a David Scott (wife unknown) with sons George born about 1855 and Benjamin born 15 March 1858 (not sure about the accuracy of this date). George's marriage record has him born in Whitchurch, which I assumed was Whitchurch, York County. However, I have information which indicates that Benjamin was born in Walkerton, Bruce County. So..perhaps the marriage record should read Whitechrurch which is closer to Walkerton???? I'm grasping at straws after having no success finding this family prior to 1870. They are in Muskoka in 1870. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Jenny B., e-mail [email protected]. December 31, 2008

Parents were Ervine Slough and Leddie Horton. He had three sisters we know of: Jessie, Ella and Myrtle. There may have been another marriage which produced step-siblings; one of which is reported to have owned the Mansion House hotel in St. Catharines. In 1915 he married Ivy Tarling-Handyside, a domestic from England who was working for a family named Guest. The marriage was registered in Simcoe County. They settled and lived their entire lives in St. Catharines, Ontario. He worked for McKinnon's. Their children were Harvey, Alvin, David and Gertrude.
