BROWN Researching the Brown family of Tiverton? My connection is with Barbara Matheson (daughter of Hugh Matheson & Susannah Lloyd) of Inverhuron who was the 3rd wife of Alexander Brown (son of Donald Brown and Catherine MacLean of Tyree, Scotland). My reason for inquiring is - I wonder if the descendants of this family have any photos of Barbara Matheson Brown (1844-1916). I would be very pleased so share my research on these families in exchange for old photos. I am descended from Hugh & Susan too - a few generations back! MCLEOD John Gordon Alexander born 1900 -1915 in Bruce Huron. Joined the X11 Manitoba Dragoons armoured regiment and fought in Europe during WW2. LITWINIUK I am contacting anyone I can find in Teeswater who might remember Peter and Catherine Litwiniuk. Catherine was from the northeast of England and Peter was Polish. I think he might have been a chef/cook. They had 2 children, Peter and Catherine, and lived in Teeswater in the 1950/60s. McCALLUM / McINTRYE / GIBSON / REDFORD Looking for the daughters of Malcolm & Margaret McCallum or any family member. Gertrude (McCallum) McIntrye, Florence (McCallum) Gibson, also the grandchildren of Malcolm & Margaret (Redford) McCallum. Have the following information: In 1902 Malcolm McCallum married Margaret (Redford), the daughter of John & Sarah Redford of Bentinck Twp, Grey County. Malcolm & Margaret farmed near Murlock but later came to Durham where Malcolm passed away 1955 in Durham, Ontario in the Durham Memorial Hospital. Margaret passed away March 1963 at the home of her daughter Florence Gibson in Pinkerton, Ontario. Their family included: Sarah McCallum – died infancy; Annie McCallum – died infancy; Gertrude McCallum married Morel McIntyre (Toronto); and Florence McCallum who married Edward Gibson (Pinkerton). BORHO I am looking for information regarding the family history and origin of Borho. I found that Joan M. Borho and Herbert M. Kuntz wrote a book called Formosa the Beautiful. It is a history and stories of Formosa and area that was originally published in 1980 and are-published by the Formosa 2001 Homecoming Committee. My Great-Great Grandfather Anthony Borho was married in Formosa to Magdalena OHLHEISER and my Great-Grandfather Alexander Borho was born in Formosa in 1890. The family moved from Formosa to North Dakota in 1902. Anthony Borho's parents were Jacob Borho and Catharine Scharbach, who were both born in Germany. I'm still trying to find out where they were born and lived in Germany, if they had any siblings, when and where they were married, when they emigrated into Canada, and where they lived in Canada. STRUTHERS, John. I am looking for information about my great-great grandfather. I believe he moved to Bruce County from Welland County sometime after 1856. His wife's name was Janet Sawyers. I believe he was born in Scotland and was married there before coming to Canada. He may have been present at his son's (my great-grandfather's) wedding on December 22, 1886 in the township of Bruce. His son's name was Robert and he married Jessie McLean (daughter of Archibald and Sarah (McArthur) McLean). MARMION Looking for any info on the Marmion family who lived in Arran Twp. in the mid 1800s. We are in search of a James who migrated to Michigan in the 1880s. He was a blacksmith. We thought his father was John, and we also thought he was from Arran. John is an unusual Marmion name. The only thing we are sure of is James, born in the 1850's in Canada. CRAWFORD / KING / DOYLE John Crawford, wife Eliza Anne King, children Edith Crawford and Mary Crawford. Sister Catherine Crawford married John Doyle, children, Kate, Mabel and Francis. Moved to Toronto in the 20s after John Doyle died. All buried Hillcrest in Tara. Does anyone know the family? Are there any of these Crawfords still living in the area? KENNEDY, John (d. 1888), mariner. Emigrated from Skye, 1852 or so. Children included Alex, James, Roderick Duncan, all of whom moved to Arizona, Thomas J. of Calumet Michigan. McKINNON / McKENZIE Researching McKinnon family from Bruce Co. and hope to locate Angus and Mary McKinnon. Angus was born about 1841 in Bruce Co., Ontario and married Mary McKenzie. That we are aware of they had one son William  born about 1869 who immigrated to Michigan and married Jennie LaPoint. Angus may have been born in  Scotland. JACKSON / BLACK I am looking for any information on Daniel JACKSON. I have a postcard from Port Elgin dated August 1915 to his sister Myrtle, who he called Jean or Jen (my grandmother). Other family members lived in Walkerton. PORTER – Ireland / Manvers / Arran / Wiarton. We are looking for relatives and information about Porter families in Ontario who immigrated from County Cavan, Ireland. Children of William Porter & Margaret Marshall from Manvers Township, Ontario who resettled in Arran Township c.1861 are:
William and Isabella Porter - children: Lavinia Francis (Chebott), William Joseph, Alecia Jane (Carruthers), David Frederick, Letitia Berry (Slater), James Alman, Annabella (Duff), Washington, Sarah Maria (Spears), Harriet Emma (Thompson), Lillian Alda, Mary Louisa (Boomer), Wilfred Stanley.
Hugh Porter married Julia Chabot / Chebott in Arran. Children: Mary (Hinds), William Marshall, Louis, Hugh, Hilton, David Henry, F. Marshall, Herbert Augusta, Clarence Russel, Earnest Eugene.
Robert Porter married Letitia Faulkner - children: Mary E. (Tippin), Jeremiah, Elizabeth, William, Joshua, Florence Letitia (Cvitkovich).
David Porter married Emily Thompson in Southampton, resettled in Wiarton, Ontario. Children: William, David Henry, Charles Marshall, Alexander Sinclair, Garnet Roy, Albert Richard, Gladys (adopted).
Other Children of William Porter and Margaret Marshall are: Charles Marshall, Mary, Martha Marie, Matthew, Joshua, Ann Jane, Joseph and Benjamin.

SCHELL / KETTLES I am looking for information on my great-grandfather / great-grandmother. Archibald SCHELL Sr. born June 11, 1874 in North Bruce, ON, died June 1963, Port Elgin, ON. He married Jessie KETTLES April 20, 1897 in Port Elgin, ON. Jessie KETTLES born 1878 Glasgow, Scotland, came to Canada app. 1882, died 1952, Port Elgin, ON. Their children were Vera (m. Wellington S. FENTON), Archie Jr. (m. Reta MORROW), Edith (m. Gordon W. THOMAS), Charles (m. Lillian SMITH), Gertrude (m David A. WILSON), Helen (m. Percy B. COREY) and Jessie (m. John R. SHOEMAKER; m. Roy CLARKE). Archie SCHELL Sr.'s father was Nathaniel SCHELL who had 3 brothers that all farmed quarter sections of either the 4th of Bruce County or the 4th of Saugeen County. Nathaniel SCHELL then moved to North Bruce, his brothers moved to ?? His mother was Ellen SMITH (SMYTH) born in York, England. Archie SCHELL Sr.'s siblings were Charles Duncan, James, Edith (m. a McCARREL, son Roy McCARREL), Eleanor (or Nellie m. Horatio NELSON), Emily, Annabelle (or Belle) and two other brothers names unknown. Jessie KETTLES father was Charles KETTLES Sr. (his father was John KETTLES) who died in Port Elgin on June 14, 1922, widow native of Forfarshire, England. Her mother was Margaret OGLIVIE (or OGILVIE) who died July 4, 1908 in Port Elgin, ON. Jessie KETTLES siblings were Charles, David, Jean, Jule (could be Julie / Julia) and Margaret (m. Josh BELL). COREY / BARFOOT / REID  I am looking for information on my grandfather Percy Belton COREY born March (or April), 1904 in Shallow Lake, Grey County, ON, died 1972 in Southampton (Hospital), ON. Percy COREY'S father was John Belton COREY born in Lyon County, Minnesota and worked as a cement grader, died November 7th, 1912 in Shallow Lake, Grey County, ON. His mother was Alice Melissa BARFOOT who was born on a farm in Owen Sound, ON area, died May, 1956. Percy COREY'S siblings were Irene Mae born app. 1907, m. Ernest FRAY of Owen Sound, ON area, and Florence Rebecca (went by the last name of BARFOOT, was adopted by an uncle as an infant because her father died before her birth and her mother had to work.) Florence BARFOOT never married. Alice Melissa BARFOOT COREY re-married after the early death of John COREY to William REID, app. 1917. William REID died January 6, 1961 in Kincardine, ON. William REID'S father was Peter REID. John Belton COREY'S parents were James COREY and Christine MUNROE COREY. His siblings were William, Cleveland and Margaret. Alice BARFOOT COREY REID'S mother was Mary Anne Walpole from England, father's name unknown. Her siblings were Mary Jane (m. last name Moon), George, Anson, Annie (m. John Kennedy who farmed 10th or 12th of Bruce County, son named Clifford, daughter named Myrtle (m. Eldon MacLeod)) and other siblings, names unknown. Percy Belton COREY m. Helen Margaret SCHELL born August 5, 1911, died March 6th, 1995 in Southampton (Hospital) ON. They married on May 7, 1932 at the Church Manse on Mill St. in Port Elgin, ON. SCHMIDT / NEUBECKER I am looking for relatives or any information about Joseph SCHMIDT born about 1843, married to Maria (Mary) NEUBECKER. They lived in Carrick Twp, between 1864 and 1892 and had 12 children all born in Carrick Twp, Bruce County, On. Joseph Schmidt was my great grandfather. The children were Urban, b. 1864, Anna, b. 1866, Nicholas, b. 1872, John, b. 1874, Catherine, b. 1876, Theresa, b. 1877, Michael, b. 1880, George, b. 1882, Joseph, b. 1884, Philip, b. 1886 (my grandfather), Felix, b. 1888, and Andrew, b. 1892. GEISEL / LANG / BRENZEL / DAWSON / YANDT / GEIB I am looking for any information on Henry Geisel born in Germany. He married Mary LANG in Germany and had the following children: Mary in Germany (married William Liske), Henry b. 1856 in Germany (married Catherine BRENZEL), Conrad b abt 1861 (married Christina Yandt), Elizabeth b. ? (married George DAWSON), and Catherine b. 1875 (married Jacob James Yandt). Mary LANG died between 1875 and 1893 and then Henry remarried Maria Geib in 1893. All the children except Mary lived in or around the Hanover, Ayton, Elmira, and Elmwood areas. His daughter Catherine and her husband Jacob James YANDT took over the farm in Elmwood and remained there until their deaths in 1958 and 1963. SCHUETT / SCHUTT / DRUAR  I am looking for information about the John SCHUTT or SCHUETT possibly born in Carrick Twp., Bruce County, Ontario on March 1859. His parents may have been John and Anna (Druar) Schuett of that county. John married Bertha Diehl 1/27/1886 in Bay City, Michigan, USA. John died 9/18/1900 in Lasalle Twp., Niagara Co., New York. RUXTON  I am looking for information about William RUXTON, born in Aberdeenshire, a brother of one of my great great grandmothers, who came to Bruce County from Winterbourne, Ontario some time after 1871 (possibly to stay with one of his sons who had settled in Bruce County earlier), and who died at Southampton on 12 April 1878. I would be interested to know if there is any record of the probate of a will for William RUXTON, or any indication where he and his wife Elizabeth (who also died at Southampton in 1878) might be buried. ISAAC  I am looking for information about Elizabeth (Ruxton) ISAAC, born in Aberdeenshire, a sister of one of my great great grandmothers, who came to Bruce county with her family from Winterbourne, Ontario about 1863 and who died at Port Elgin on 22 April 1881. Her husband John ISAAC died on 12 July 1880, also at Port Elgin. STEWART / ATCHESON  I need some assistance sorting this family. Agnes STEWART (1785-1851) and Robert AITCHISON - ATCHESON (1778-1856) & family that was in Kincardine, Bruce Co. There were 12 known children. The 1st 11 born in Rox. Scot. and last 1 girl born 1833 in Ont. Agnes (STEWART) ATCHESON died pre 1851 census, would like a date if possible. SCOTT  I am searching for the date of death and possible burial at Port Elgin of my ancestor, as follows: SCOTT, Henry Melville, born March 12, 1916. I have information that Henry M Scott died in June 1972. I feel that he may not have been buried at Port Elgin as I have also heard that it might be Arizona, Muskoka and possibly British Columbia. Background: Henry M Scott had a brother SCOTT, Elwynne William born at Port Elgin On. December 12, 1912, his birth may have been at Melville, Caledon Township, Peel County On. Elwynne William Scott died January 02, 1985 at Toronto? Parents: SCOTT, George Melville and his wife SCOTT, (Stubbs) Myrtle. Myrtle's parents William Stubbs and Mary Ann Limebeer Stubbs moved to Port Elgin c1912 and are buried at Sanctuary Park cemetery. George Melville Scott was treasurer of a Broom & Brush Company at Port Elgin from 1912- ?. BLAKE - McCLERY - MORAN - In +/-1856 the Michael Blake b. 1799 family arrived in Canada from the Loop Head Peninsula in County Clare, Ireland. Other family members were: Johanna (Jordan) Blake, wife, b. 1814 in Ireland; Timothy Henry Blake b. 1840 in Ireland; Ellen Blake b. 1843 in Ireland; Catherine Blake b. 1847 in Ireland; John Blake b. 1849 in Ireland; Michael Blake b. 1853 in Ireland; Mary G. Blake b. 1854 in Ireland; James Blake b. 1859 in Canada. Timothy Henry Blake b. 1840 was married to Catherine McClery b. 1846. This marriage took place in Bruce County, Teeswater, Ontario, Canada, on April 5, 1869. Family lore has it that Timothy worked as a sawyer in the lumber industry. Catherine Blake b. 1847 was married to Thomas Moran b. in Ireland 1831. This marriage took place in Huron County, Ontario on Feb. 1, 1864. Their first child, James Moran b. 1865 was born in Canada.
