State and Local Contest Information

  • American Heritage:  To learn about the history of Valley Forge and its importance to the cause of the Revolutionary War.

  • American History:  To discover the First Ladies' influence on America's Treasures.

  • American Indian:  To learn about American Indian achievements and contributions to your state's history.

  • C.A.R./DAR/SAR/S.R. Relations:  To create activities to foster relations with your parent organizations.

  • C.A.R. Magazine Advertising:  To recognize those who Treasure the C.A.R. Magazine by advertising.

  • C.A.R. Magazine and Newsletters:  To submit articles, puzzles, trivia, artwork, and original photos to the Local Society and State Society newsletters and to the C.A.R. Magazine.

  • Conservation:  To learn about the role that water has played in the development of our nation and how this Treasure can be protected and preserved.

  • Endowment Fund:  To treasure our Endowment by creating a fund-raiser.

  • Government Studies:  To find out more about the homes of your Presidents and Governors.

  • Kids Helping Kids:  To provide opportunities for youth in your community to become America's Treasures (e.g. help kids who are disabled, disadvantaged, or otherwise in need of a helping hand, etc.)

  • Magazine Fund:  To offer creative fund-raisers to boost donations for the Magazine Fund.

  • Membership:  To recruit new Members and retain current members.

  • Mountain Schools:  To provide material aid and financial support for the Mountain Schools.

  • Museum Advisory Committee:  To learn about, treasure, and contribute to The Children's Room furnishings and special exhibit of toys and games.  Discover Children's Museums in your geographic area.

  • National Merit Award:  To discover the National Merit Award Contest and become one of America's Treasures.

  • N.S.C.A.R.:  To learn about the N.S.C.A.R. Archives and archival preservation, contribute items related to the Archives of the National Society, and financially support the archival preservation program.

  • N.S.C.A.R. Societies in Foreign Countries:  To encourage fellow Members to get involved in their Local Society.

  • Public Relations:  To successfully maintain a creative, aggressive publicity campaign using traditional media outlets as well as unconventional public relations methods to spread the work about C.A.R. and America's Treasures.

  • Public Relations Online:  To increase C.A.R. electronic communication.
