"Ghost" town of Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma Location: 3 miles west of the southeast corner of the
Pottawatomie county line
Young's Crossing never had a postoffice but was a well established town consisting mostly of saloons. The town was established on George Young's land which joined the Canadian River. There were five well known crossings of the river adjoining southern Pottawatomie county. These five crossings were from east to west: Young's Crossing, Graveyard Crossing, Cook's Crossing Johnston Crossing. George Young had the first general store in town in addition to owning one of the saloons. Other families living near the area were: Isabelle Nobles, Joel N. Nichols, Andrew J. Berry, Levi Shaw, "Wi'kja", and Welling Wood.
