Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma

Location: 10 miles west and 2 miles south of Shawnee
Existence: June 12, 1900 until Febrary 13, 1904
Named for: Waco Tribe of Indiana

W. T. Willson was the first postmaster and he also had the first store. Doug Wyant later had a store in Waco. Tom Walden owned a blacksmith shop and grist mill in 1909. Frank Whitten, later a Deputy Sheriff, lived near Waco. Early day families living near Waco were:
