The first Mission church and school was started by Father Dom Isidor Robot in 1876. Father Robot was born in France and, along with his lay brother, Dominic, sailed from Harve, France to New Orleans. After two years they both arrived in Indian Territory. Sacred Heart Mission had it's beginning when the Potawatomi Indians gave a square mile of the reservation lands to the Catholic Order of St. Bendict. Father Dom Isidor Robot was the first postmaster.
