IVY
"Ghost" town of 
Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma

Location:  7 miles west of Asher
Existed:  May 14, 1892 until August 25, 1893
Named for:  Miss Ivy Lewis, first postmaster

Wesley Lewis who was from Kansas homesteaded a 400 acre farm two and half miles northwest of present Wanette which included an excellent orchard. His wife, a French and Potawatomi blood, had died in Pottawatomie County, Kansas in 1886, leaving nine children.
