"Ghost" town of Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma Location: 7 miles west of Asher
Wesley Lewis who was from Kansas homesteaded a 400 acre farm two and half miles northwest of present Wanette which included an excellent orchard. His wife, a French and Potawatomi blood, had died in Pottawatomie County, Kansas in 1886, leaving nine children. Some of the pioneer homesteaders living near here were: John L.
