Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma

Location:  8 miles west and 2 miles sougth of present Macomb
Existed:  March 7, 1891 until November 15, 1906
Named for:  Mrs. Carrie Hall, first postmaster

Originally the Post Office was approved and established in Cleveland County, about six and a half miles southeast of Noble, Oklahoma. However, when the opening “run” occurred on September 22, 1891, the Hall family obtained a quarter section in the race for homesteads in Pottawatomie County.  The town of Hall was located only about two miles west and a quarter north of the old “Council Town:, the first capitol of the Seminole Nation. Early day families included:
