HAGAR
Ghost" town of 
Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma

Location:  3 miles south of Meeker
Existed:  October 4, 1895 to January 31, 1908
Named for:  Robert H. Hagar

Robert Hagar, affectionately known as “Uncle Bob” made the original “run” in Oklahoma in 1889, settling near Guthrie. Then, in 1891, made the second run in present Pottawatomie County about seven miles north of Shawnee in the Sac & Fox country, and east of the Kickapoo reservation.  He was elected one of the first three County Commissioners when Shawnee had only a population of 200. The first postmaster was Charles Meade Arthur.  The Partlow family lived near the town and were homesteaders in 1895. Other early day settlers were:
