ELLAVILLE
"Ghost" town of 
Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma

Location:  2 miles south and 2 miles west of present Maud
Established: October 14, 1901
Named for:  Ella C. Mooney, wife of Dr. Jesse Mooney

Ella C. Mooney was the first woman in the State of Oklahoma to pass the pharmacy test and become a registered pharmacist.  Dr. Mooney had earlier lived in Moral, Dale and McLoud.  Other families living near the town were:
