Location:  5 miles north of Maud
Existed:  April 18, 1984 until November 15, 1904
Named for:  Randolph Cook, first postmaster

The original application for a post office was for “Cook’s Store”. The grandfather of Randolph Cook fought in the War of 1812 for General Jackson at New Orleans.  His brother was John Cook that lived in Maud. Other early day settlers near the town were:
