Susan Lamb Murphy, 74, passed away peacefully at her home in Choctaw, OK on May 29, 2014. Sue was born on September 6, 1939 in Portland, ME to Norton Haskell and Helen Virginia (Smith) Lamb.

She enjoyed gardening, tending to her chickens and was very passionate about teaching and education. Sue loved her family and her Yorkshire Terrier, Izzy. She worked at Tinker AFB and retired after 30 years of serving the educational needs of military personnel and their families.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; and loving husband of 43 years, Robert William "Bob" Murphy. Survivors include her beloved daughter, Avril Roux (Joel); step-grandchildren, Ashley and Joshua Roux; brother, Norton "Buzz" Lamb (Abby Shattuck); sister in laws, Susan Berry (John), Barbara Newell (Gerald); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the country.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to: Library Endowment Trust, In Memory of Susan Murphy for the Choctaw Library, Metro Library System, 300 Park Avenue, OKC, OK 73102. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 2, 2014 at the Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel. Interment will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Choctaw, OK.
