Mrs. Ferguson Nurse, Writer Is Dead at 69

Mrs. Martha J. Ferguson, practical nurse, composer of songs and poetry, and pioneer Midwest City resident, died Sunday morning of a heart attack suffered while working at the county hospital.

Services will he at 2 pm Tuesday in the Midwest City funeral home with burial in Arlington Memorial cemetery. Mrs. Ferguson of 520 W Rickenbacker, born in Iowa, Nov. 18. 1889, was reared and educated at Albia. Iowa- She married Harry Hoskins there in 190fi. Alter the death of her first husband she later married Will Ferguson . They moved to Midwest  City in 1942. She had been a practical nurse at the county hospital since 1965? having worked in other hospitals most of her life.

She was a member of Rebecca lodge, once a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Men's auxiliary, and the Veteran of Foreign War's auxiliary. Mrs. Ferguson had a hobby of writing songs and poetry and had several of her songs copyrighted. She was a member of the Midwest City Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son. Harrv K Hoskins, of the home; two sisters, Mrs. L. W. Elliot. Tulsa; and Mrs. J. C. Starr, Craig Colo.. four grandchildren  and three great-grandchildren.
