Robert Joseph Rescinito passed from this life on Father's Day, June 18, 2006, after a lengthy illness. He was born Aug. 18, 1933, in Spangler, Penn. to John A. and Laura (Mulraney) Rescinito. Bob attended school in Jersey Shore, Penn. and graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1951. In Jersey Shore, he met the love of his life, Shirley Rae Poust. They were married in 1952. Bob enlisted in the Air Force and served honorably for 20 years. His service to his country took him to many faraway places such as Turkey, Greece, Vietnam, Thailand, Okinawa and Oklahoma. As a Vietnam Vet, it was exposure to the defoliant Agent Orange that caused many of the health problems he experienced. But, it was two tours at Tinker AFB that had the greatest impact on Bob. He found that he was a true "Okie" at heart! Upon retiring from the Air Force, he loaded up the family and moved to Oklahoma City. He worked as a civilian at Tinker as a Production Scheduler and retired from there in 1988. Bob attended Rose State College as an adult and received an associate degree in management. Bob was an active member of the Midwest City Elks Lodge and is a Past Exalted Ruler. Bob regularly attended church at Tinker AFB Chapel. His proudest accomplishment is his marriage of 54 years to Shirley, who survives him. Together they experienced the highs and lows of life, including riding out the tornado of May 1999. Together Bob enjoyed travel and taking trips and cruises with Shirley by his side. But sadly, this is one trip he'll be making alone.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Charlotte and Mary Catherine; brother, John; and son, Jon Alan. Survivors include his loving wife Shirley; son, Robert F. and his wife, Rose; his favorite granddaughter, Elizabeth; his oldest sister, Rosetta and her husband, Mike; brother-in-law, Dave and his wife, Betty Poust; and many nieces and nephews. Bob was privileged to have many people in his life that he called friend. Thank you all for your friendship and your many thoughts and prayers and support and visits.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association. Services will be held at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel, 2 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2006. Interment will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
