Delbert Heard, born July 15, 1923, passed away Friday, June 23, 2006. Delbert was born in Oilton. He was a World War II veteran in the U.S. Army, where he served his country overseas. He retired from the city of Dssel City in 1982. Delbert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Minnie Jane; and five children, James Heard of Oklahoma City, Wayne Heard of Yukon, Debra Sapp of Choctaw, Cynthia Kawaykla of Del City and Theresa Davies of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Salomie Heard; daughter, Sharon Key; brother, Wilburn; and two sisters, Julie Tafoya and Lela Gray.

 Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 26 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel. Interment followed at Arlington Memorial Gardens, N.E. 36th Street and Midwest Boulevard.
