Billy Varner went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, December 7, 2007. Bill was born in Red River County, Texas on July 22, 1932 to Marvin and Faye Varner. He was raised in East Texas and then, as a young man, entered the US Army and served time during the Korean Conflict. After his time in the Army, he went to work in the oilfield.

He married Judy Pennington on May 18, 1968 in Vernon, TX. Bill later went to work for the Oklahoma Publishing Co. and worked there for 26 years before retiring. He loved to garden, play golf, and fish, but most of all, he liked to spend time with his family. Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church in Choctaw and he loved doing things for other people, but above all else, he loved the Lord and liked to teach Sunday School or anything that glorified the Lord.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Kenneth & Roy.

Billy is survived by his wife, Judy, of the home; 1 son, Darryl Varner & wife Jean of Midwest City; 2 daughters, Donna Shaw and Glenda West of Choctaw ; 4 grandchildren; 6 sisters, 2 brothers, numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. The family would like to say a special thank you to Quality Hospice for the wonderful care that you provided for Bill.

Services will be 2:00 pm Monday, December 17, 2007, at First Baptist Church in Choctaw , under the direction of Hibbs Funeral Home with interment following at Elmwood Cemetery in Choctaw.
