Eddie Smith Fausett

FAUSETT Eddie Smith, born Dec. 28, 1912 to Arnold Smith and Pearl Jaunita Fausett in Corsicana, TX, entered into the presence of our precious Lord April 24, 1998 after a short bout with pancreatic cancer. He moved with his family to Duncan, OK in 1919 where he spent his childhood and graduated with honors from Empire High School in 1932. He was united in marriage to Lawana Sue Moore Aug. 1, 1935 in Duncan, OK. This union was blessed with twin daughters, Edwina Sue and Erol Linda, and a son, EddieSmith, Jr. In 1939, he built, owned, and operated "Eddie's Knotty Pine Grill" from 1946 to 1960. At that time, he changed occupations. He became employed with American Electric and moved to Ada, OK. He retired in 1978. He and Lawana moved to Oklahoma City in 1990. He was an extraordinary and accomplished athlete. He pitched in a minor league for 2 yrs. and played semi-pro basketball for 2 yrs. He was a self-taught golfer, playing for over 35 yrs. He was a great sportsman in every sense of the word. He had wonderful fish stories and many hunting experiences. He was an avid Oklahoma University football fan and enjoyed professional football, basketball and golf. His faith and love for his church were exhibited through his long time support and serviceard, andwas superintendent of the adult dept. for over 49 yrs. He was a 32 degree Mason of the Siloam Lodge No. 276. His hobbies were gardening, collecting coins and working with wood crafts. His latest interest had been getting in his blue `83 Chevy pick-up andcollecting Christian books with friends from his Sunday School Dept. to send to Africa. The mark of his life was his love and devotion to the Lord. 

He was preceded in death by his Parents Arnold and Pearl Fausett, brother John Arnold and sister Pauletta Madreane Fausett

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years. Lawana Sue of the home; Twin daughters, Edwina Sue and husband Gerald W. Bennett. Erol Linda and husband John P. Agnos of Colorado Springs, CO; son. Eddie Smith, Jr. of Dallas. TX; sisters, Minnie Lee Johnston and Mary Louise Blunt; 8 grandchildren. John P. Agnos, Khristian Hollowell. Susan Biggs, Elizabeth Fell. David C. Shapard III. Madreane, Karly, and Eddie S. Fausett II; and two great grandchildren. Dakota and Jackson Biggs; fourteen nieces and 4 nephews, all of whom he loved very much. 

The family requests that any donations be made to Village Baptist Church, 10600 N. May. Oklahoma City. Services will be held at Village Baptist Church. April 27, 1998, at 2.00 PM with interment to follow al Rose Hill Burial Park. We love you and will miss you always.
