Bayless, Chalice R., 87, of Choctaw, passed away at his home on Friday, Sept. 27, 2002. Bayless was born on March 12, 1915 in Melvern, KS to Hunter and Minnie (Gregg) Bayless . He moved to Choctaw in 1976. He retired from TAFB after 32 years of civil service. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner and a member of the Midwest City VFW. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and telling good jokes.

Bayless is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; 2 daughters: Rene Griffith of Newalla, OK and Tina Hanaway of Choctaw, OK; 1 son, Leland McCormick of Spencer, OK; 7 grandchildren: Jamie, Lindsi, Zachary, Logan, Laura, Levi and Lonnie; 3 great-grandchildren: Anthony, Tristian and, L.J.; 1 sister, Cora Bayless ; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; 4 sisters: Sara, Crystal, Alverdie and Iva; and 1 brother, Myron. Services will be 3:00 PM, Tuesday, October 1, 2002, at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel with burial at Choctaw Cemetery. Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home.
