Dorothy L. Stanfield., 76, of Poteau, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2008, in Poteau.   She was born March 1, 1932, in Buck Creek Community in LeFlore County, to Luther D. and Myrtle Mandy (Gollihare) Pierce.  

Dorothy L. Pierce married Earl Stanfield on May 4, 1948.  She was a homemaker and was a member of the Panama Assembly of God Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband; two daughters Cathy Childers and Marsha Owens; a brother Eugene Pierce; and a sister Evalene Rogers.

Dorothy is survived by a son, Rich and Sherry Stanfield of Yreka, Calif.; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; two brothers Jimmy Dale and wife Shirley Pierce of Buck Creek and Charles Robert and wife Pat Pierce of Panama; sister-in-law Inora Pierce of Panama as well as a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.

Pallbearers will be Sammy Pierce, David Martin, Kenny Pierce, Larry Martin, Robert Pierce and Rodney Pierce.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel, Poteau with Rev Brian Smith officiating.  Interment will follow service at Fairview Cemetery, Panama.
