Grace Salter, 94, of Heavener, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2004, in Poteau. She was a longtime resident of Heavener, a member of the First United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harley Nichols; a second husband, A.W. Salter; and one grandson.

Survivors include one daughter, Mildred Allen and husband Don of Poteau; one granddaughter, Dr. Christy Bennett and husband Joe of Tulsa; five step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Justin and Brooke.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 16 in Memorial Park Cemetery at Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Heavener Cemetery Association Pavilion fund.
