Billie Mae Lawson, 94, of Fort Smith, Ark., formerly of Arkoma and Poteau, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004. She was born May 18, 1910 at Wayne, Okla. to Charley and Ollie (Justis) Deffebach.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Odell Lawson; three sisters; and four brothers.

Survivors include one sister, Inez Hatfield of Fort Smith, Ark; four nephews; eight nieces.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21 in New Hope Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Skinner officiating, under the direction of Mallory Martin Funeral Home of Spiro.
