Heavener Girl’s Burns Are Fatal
POTEAU, April 2(1—Sandra Darlene Spears, 8-year-old Heavener
girl who suffered third degree burns April a in her lhome. died
in a Poteau hospital Sunday morning. She was the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Wayne Spears of Heavener.
Sandra Darlene, a third grade pupil, was burned over more
than 40 percent of her body when she backed into an open gas
heater. She had been under treatment here since the accident.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Dowden funeral chapel
at Heavener, with burial in
Heavener Memorial park.
Survivors, besides her parents, are two sisters. Retha Jean
and Marjorie Lou Spears; her maternal grandfather, Luther
Parker, Heavener, and her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Roxie
Spears, Oklahoma City.
