Funeral services were held on Monday, November 24, 1975, at the Evans Chapel of Memories for Mrs. Minnie Mertal Smotherman, who died at her home on Friday, November 21, 1975. Forrest Henbrook officiated.

Minnie was born October 30, 1875, at Ozark, Arkansas. Mrs. Smotherman observed her 100th birthday less tan a month ago. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Her husband, William Hugh Smotherman preceded her in death in 1958.

She is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Maudie Leneer of Clarksville, Arkansas, Mrs. Elva Allen and Miss Pearl Smotherman of the home, and Mrs. Charlotte Stone of Los Angeles, California; a son, Hoyt Smotherman of Poteau, Oklahoma; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Pilkington of Poteau, Oklahoma; and a brother, Manley Qualls of Holdenville, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
