A. J. Henson, 87, of Poteau, Okla., passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004 at Poteau.

He was born Dec. 28, 1916, at Poteau. He was a retired educator and a rancher.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Poteau and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Air Corp. He was a flight instructor during World War II. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Fort Gibson, Okla.; a member of the state OREA and LeFlore County OREA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo II and Minnie Belle (McDaniel) Henson; six sisters; and five brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Henson of the home and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and loved ones.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Nov. 23 at the First Baptist Church of Poteau with Reverend Phil McGehee officiating. Interment will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
