Hazel Jeraldine Yandell, 71, of Summerfield, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002. She was born Aug. 5, 1931 at Summerfield. She was a homemaker, song leader, and loved gardening, fishing and reading the Bible. She was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved playing horseshoes, basketball and baseball. She was always full of laughter. She married Omer Yandell on Jan. 17, 1947. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, John H. and Ellen (Smith) Fulks; one brother, Johnny Wayne Fulks; two sisters, Virginia Tilley and Geneva Davis; one son and two grandsons. 

Survivors include her husband Omer of the home; eight children and their spouses, Lonnie and Judy Yandell and Donald and Pam Yandell, all of Wister, George and Carol Yandell of Cameron, Ellen and David Adams and Mary and Steve Arbuckle, all of Duncan, Merdith Atwell and Mike of Lawton, Billie Ann Yandell of the home and Victoria Ann Yandell of Cedarville, Ark.; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Alda Davis of Texas, Ramona Billings of LeFlore, Edith Nelson of Las Vegas, Nev. and Diann Chambers of Anacoco, La.; two brothers, Darrell Fulks of Cashion and Jerry Fulks of Lone Grove; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends. 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 at Summerfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy D. Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Summerfield Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
