Nellie Violet Ward, 82, of Fort Smith, formerly of Clayton, passed away Friday, March 29, 2002. She was born Feb. 12, 1920 in Toledo, Ohio. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Harold Cordz Ward; her parents, Frederick and Minnie (Smith) Clarke; and a daughter, Dorothy Ann Davis.
Survivors include one son, Frederick Ward of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, David Harold Davis of Poteau, Christina Elaine Ward, Frederick George Ward II, Matthew Harold Eugene Ward and Laura Ann Ward, all of Fort Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 1 in Evans Chapel of Memories with the Rev. John Stepp officiating. Burial will follow in
Oakland Cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
