Grace Thrift, 87, of Moore, formerly of Poteau, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002. She was born March 29, 1915 in Bates, Ark. She married John A. Thrift on Aug. 29, 1945. She was a beauty operator and lived in the Poteau and McAlester areas most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband Aug. 10, 1979; and her parents, Elbert and Zona (Parnell) Morris.
Survivors include one niece, Velma Wooten of Tulsa; two very special caregivers, Millie Hahn and Barbara Parkinson; numerous other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.
Graveside services were at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22 at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion with the Rev. Jimmy D. Cook officiating, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
