Betty May Russell, 68, of Oakhurst, Okla., passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, in Tulsa. She was born April 10, 1933 in Panama. Her parent's are John Robert & Virgle Zozella (Brown) Barnes. She was a member of Ray of Light Tabernacle of Sand Springs and a homemaker. She had lived in the Oakhurst area for the past 28 years.

Survivors include her husband Lorne Russell of the home; two daughters, Carol McDonald of Charleston, Ark. and Shirley Barnett of Tulsa; three sons, Rudy Bledsoe of Santa Maria, Calif., James Russell and Michael Russell, both of Tulsa; two sisters, Margie Wiles and Lois Smith, both of Shady Point; two brothers, Robert I. Barnes of Spiro and Olen Porter Barnes of Poteau; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and loved ones; and many friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26 at Assembly of God Church in Shady Point with the Revs. Dye and Deward Gunter officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Point Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

Pallbearers will be Dewight McDonald, Dewayne McDonald, Kevin Barnett, Sean Barnett, Don Barnes and John Barnett.
