Christine Ramsey, 70, of Whitesboro, passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2002. She was born Feb. 4, 1932 at Lodi to Walter and Clara Solomon Southard. She attended Cameron High School. She worked at Nu Beauty Shoppe in 1957 to 1978 and then worked in home health. She married Jimmy Gordon Ramsey on March 17, 1960 in McAlester. They celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2000. She enjoyed hunting fishing, crafts and reading, she deeply loved her husband and children. She was a member of the Whitesboro Baptist Church and the WMU. She was a devoted Christian who loved her Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John W. "Bill" and Pearl Ramsey; two sisters, Beatrice Cates and Ruby Lardi; and a foster daughter, Irene Godsby.
Survivors include her husband of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Jack Davis of Talihina; one son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Norman "Chuck" and Charlene Shilling of Maysville; two grandchildren and their spouses, Norman Charles and Andrea Shilling Jr. of Indianapolis, and Robin and Will Grimes of Fort Worth; three great-grandchildren, Autumn an Stephen Shilling and Madelyn Grimes; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Bobby Southard of Oak Dale Calif. and Jack and Lois Southard of Red Oak; brothers-in-law, Bobbie Cates of Kerman, Calif. and Joe Lardi of Hartshorne; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stanley Lynn and Billy Sue Ramsey of Oglesby, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; and her many friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23 at the Whitesboro Baptist Church with the Revs. Darrow Sanders, Mark O. Shelton and Norman "Chuck" Shilling officiating. Burial will follow at the
Whitesboro Cemetery under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, David Morgan, Jackie Lee Lewis, Sherman Southard, Don Southard, Charlie Southard, Gerald Ramsey, Kenneth Campbell and Kenny Ramsey.
