Wanda June Melton, 69, of Rowlett, Texas, passed away Thursday, Dec.
19, 2002. She was born Aug. 27, 1933 at Heavener to Jessie and Jimmie
(Smith) Prather. She graduated from Heavener High School. She was a
homemaker and also worked as a baker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter, Carol
Melton; and one brother, Tommy Prather.
Survivors include six sons, Randy and Dooley Melton of Sulphur Springs,
Texas, Bruce Melton of Cedar Creek Lake, Texas, Brian Melton of Point,
Texas, Terry Melton of Eustace, Texas and Scott Melton of Austin, Texas;
two daughters, Sharon Douglas of Kissimee, Fla. and Linda Sanders of
Forney, Texas; one brother, Roger Prather of Florida and one sister, Jean
Luman of Heavener; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many
beloved friends and family.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22 at the Grace Manor
Memorial Chapel in Poteau with the Rev. Wayne Fowler officiating. Burial
followed at Memorial Park
Cemetery in Heavener under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home
of Poteau.
Pallbearers were Randy, Dooley, Bruce, Brian, Terry and Scott Melton.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel in Poteau with burial at Heavener Memorial Park in Heavener.
