Master Sergeant Billy Alvin Maggard, 76, of Tulsa, passed away
Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002. He was a former resident of Heavener, retired
Master Sergeant serving in the U.S. Army for 22 years, veteran of World
War II, Korean Conflict and the Vietnam era.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Maggard.
Survivors include one daughter, Diedra Creech of Poteau; one son, Billy
Ray Maggard of Wister; one stepson, Tony O'Shields of Sapulpa; three
sisters, Loretta Carr and Norma Boggs, both of Tulsa and Juanita Wade of
Broken Arrow; one brother, Ronald Maggard of Tulsa; seven grandchildren;
and three great-grandchildren.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23 at Dowden Funeral Home Chapel
in Heavener. Burial followed at Page
Cemetery under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.

TULSA — Billy Alvin Maggard, 76, of Tulsa died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, in Tulsa. He was a retired master sergeant, serving in the Army for 22 years. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a former resident of Heavener and the widower of Mary Lou Maggard.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Dowden Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener with burial at Page Cemetery in Heavener.
He is survived by a daughter, Diedra Creech of Poteau; a son, Billy Ray Maggard of Wister; a stepson, Tony O’Sheilds of Sapulpa, Okla.; three sisters, Loretta Carr and Norma Boggs, both of Tulsa, and Juanita Wade of Broken Arrow; a brother, Ronald Maggard of Tulsa; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
