Raymond D. Knox, 64, of Poteau, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2002. He was born Jan. 14, 1938.
Mr. Knox was a retired teacher, teaching at CASC for 18-1/2 years and Western Oklahoma State College at Altus for 4-1/2 years; a member of the Retired Teachers Association; a member of the Democratic Party of LeFlore County and a MAJOR OU Sooner fan.
Survivors include his wife Billie Sue of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Javier Patlan, Barbara and Condy Wells and Sandra and Kevin Rogers; one son, Marshall Knox; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Lorene McDaniel and Betty Sutmiller, both of Poteau, Margie Squires of Oklahoma City, Ann Ilillson of Miami, Fla. and Gladys Woods of Visalia, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.
The family will visit with friends and relatives Tuesday, April 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Evans & Miller Funeral Home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 10 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with the Rev. Finas Steelman officiating. Burial will follow in
Oakland Cemetery at Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
Pallbearers will be Max Rowley, Harrell Bright, Ed Drury, Kenneth Corn, Art Drury and Bill Day.
