Percy "Tag" Harper, 83, of Poteau, passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2002. He was born Dec. 24, 1918 at Montreal, Ark. He loved to garden and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Poteau, a coal miner and retired from the Poteau City Water Dept.

Survivors include his wife Pauline Harper of the home; one daughter, Barbara K. VanCleave of Fort Smith; two sisters, Elsie Grob of Sun City, Calif. and Alice Myers of Fort Myers, Fla.; two brothers, J.D. Harper and Harry Harper, both of Lawton; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11 at First Baptist Church of Poteau with the Revs. Phil McGehee and Gary Burris officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery at Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

Pallbearers will be Robert Swinford, Curtis Moren, Haskell Nobles, Weylin Groom, Mike Pritchett and Jim Combes.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mike James and Bob Lindstrom.
