Richard Jackson "Jackie" Freeman, 74, of Oklahoma City, passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, at Norman. He was born Feb. 26, 1928 at Heavener to Edwin Jackson and Iris Leadman Freeman. He grew up in Heavener and graduated from high school there in 1945. He had lived in Oklahoma City since 1968. He served 24 years in the U.S. Army Air Force. He worked for two years for the Kansas City Southern Railway. He married Tatsuko Nakashima in 1965. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Heavener, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign War in Oklahoma City. He was a business man for 18 years in Del City.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jan. 1, 1990; and his parents. Survivors include one daughter, Minori Schweitzer of Oklahoma City; one sister, Jane Teeter of Greely, Colo.; a brother, Phillip Freeman and wife Wanda of Heavener; three grandchildren, David Christopher Personette, Rachel Schweitzer and Gwyn Schweitzer; and one great-grandchild, Christopher D. Personette.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6 at First United Methodist Church of Heavener with the Rev. Greg Tolle officiating. Burial will follow in
Memorial Park Cemetery at Heavener under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
