Hazel Buttress, 82, of Spiro, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was born Feb. 21, 1920 at Spiro to E.B. and Sarah (Lawson) Mahan. She was of the Assembly of God faith and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; one sister, Naomi Black; and two brothers, Noah Mahan and Lincoln Mahan.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, David Buttress and LuJane of Arkoma; one sister, Flora Ferrell of Bokoshe; one brother, Frank Mahan of Woodstock, Ga.; grandchildren, Bo and Renea Buttress of Van Buren, Ark. and Jarrod Buttress of Arkoma; and one great-granddaughter, Addison Renea Buttress of Van Buren.
Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7 at the Mallory Chapel with the Rev. O.M. Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in
New Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
