Gwendolyn 'Gwen' Upton, 48, of Spiro, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2003. She was born April 4, 1955 at Bakersfield, Calif. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She loved flowers, canning fresh out of the garden, cooking and garage sales. She loved her little dog Teenie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oma Cecil Shadden and Vera Gladene Gillispie Gee; two brothers, Ricky Shadden and David Shadden.

Survivors include her husband Jr. Upton of the home; two children, Jennifer and husband Dennis Bohannon of Muldrow and Trey Upton of the home; one grandson, Shane Bohannon of Muldrow; three sisters, Donna Traw, Lynita Lovell and Linda Roberts, all of Poteau; three brothers, Don Shadden of Purdy, Mo., Garland Gee and Paul Gee, both of Poteau; special aunt Lorraine (Doodie) Wright of Bakersfield, Calif.; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 12 at Fairview Cemetery in Panama with the Rev. David Nolan officiating, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

Pallbearers will be Bethel Bates, Ronald Gollihare, Bud Hale, Bill Carpenter, Bob Steward and Jr. Upton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Traw, Terry Skelton, Jerry Fuller and Gary Skelton.
