Ruby Velma Thompson, 79, of Howe, passed away Friday, April 18, 2003 at Poteau. She was born Jan. 11, 1924 at Poteau. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include three daughters, Irene Mabry of Tulsa, Betty Thompson and Brenda Thompson, both of Howe; five sons, J.T. Thompson of Tulsa, Junior Thompson of Poteau, J.C. Thompson of Claremore, J.W. Thompson of Pocola and Joe Barnes of Wilburton; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones; and many beloved friends.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 21 at Ellis Chapel Church in Wister with the Rev. Jack Covey officiating. Burial followed in Ellis Chapel Cemetery at Wister under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

Pallbearers were Gary Wooten and Bud Morgan.
