Bette Ruth Smith, 66, of Heavener, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2003, in Poteau. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of the Mt. View Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and was an avid basketball fan.

Survivors include her husband Buddy of the home; two daughters, Debbie Cazares and Carol Gonzalez, both of Heavener; three sons, Tony of Panama, Eddie and Jerry Don of Heavener; one brother, Hoyt Caudell of Heavener; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 11 at Loving Baptist Church in Heavener. Burial will follow in Loving Cemetery at Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.

Pallbearers will be members of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
