Flossie Shipman, 88, of Heavener, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2003. She was a longtime resident of Heavener and a member of the Hontubby Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anderson Franklin Shipman; four brothers; one son-in-law, Wayne Curry; and three sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Wilma Curry of Mena, Ark. and Carolyn Ward and husband Gene of Heavener; five sons, Harold Shipman and wife Yvonne of Glenwood, Ark., David Shipman and wife Brenda of DeQueen, Ark., Darrell Shipman and wife Judy, Tim Shipman and wife Denise, and Mark Shipman and wife Diane, all of Heavener; four sisters, Mae Jo Wilhite, Bertha Clift, Elfreda Wilhite and Maydean Lunsford, all of Mena, Ark.; one sister-in-law, Opal Strothers of Mena, Ark.; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 9 at Dowden Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener. Burial followed in Loving Cemetery under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
