Effie Marie Rogers, 90, of Wister, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, in Poteau. She was born May 26, 1912 at Heavener. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Wister. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter L. Rogers; one son, Carl Ryburn; and her parents, Jim and Alice (Chambers) Oliver. Survivors include two daughters, Billie Williams of Panama and Joyce Erskin of Bokchito; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Jeff Oliver of Heavener; one sister, Velma Baker of Fort Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Wister with the Rev. Jimmy D. Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Wister City Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau. Pallbearers will be Randy Duncan, Robert Winters, Jimmy Williams, Bo Baker, Kenneth Baker and David Baker. Honorary pallbearer will be Dustin Duncan.
