Paul Edward Powers, 62, of Muldrow, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2003, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born Jan. 29, 1941. He was a minister of the Pentecostal faith, a retired cabinet builder and finish carpenter. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Sue Powers; and one brother, Donald Powers.

Survivors include his wife Shirley Ann Powers of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Athena and John LaPorte of Sand Springs, Rhonda and Mike Moore of Alma, Ark. and Robin Breshears of Van Buren, Ark.; four sons and daughters-in-law, Byron and Renea Powers of Owasso, Vance and Kim Powers of Muldrow, John Paul Powers of Sapulpa and Ed and Tammy Blauvelt of Dyer, Okla.; three sisters, Mary Wilson of Fort Smith, Karen Johnson of Peoria, Ill. and Teresa Puckette of Booneville, Ark.; two brothers, Henry Powers of Fort Smith, Ark. and Billy Powers of Houston, Texas; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 11 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with the Revs. Michael Tom and Kevin Fouts officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Point Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

Pallbearers will be Joe Solomon, Alan McDaniel, Frankie Solomon, Rick Hall, Vernon Phillips and Gerald Fouts.
