Eugena Potter, 76, of Cameron, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was born Sept. 24, 1926 at Rock Island. She was a member of the Greenhill Freewill Baptist Church and was retired from Okla Homer Smith. She loved to sing in church and was a supportive member of the community, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She married William Lee Potter on June 9, 1945 in Hackett, Ark. 

Survivors include her husband of 57-1/2 years William Lee of the home; four children and their spouses, Charles Ray and Marilyn Potter of Van Buren, Virgil Lee and Barbara Potter of Oak Island, N.C., Mildred Inez and Charles Sweazy of Payson, Ariz. and Mary Ruth and Billy Caldwell of Poteau; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her father, Vester Glidwell of Indio, Calif.; two brothers, Edward Glidwell of Hastings, Neb. and William Glidwell of Indio; two sisters, Martha Farmer and Kathy Strose, both of Indio; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends. 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15 at Greenhill Freewill Baptist Church in Cameron with the Revs. Scott Chance and Jackie Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Cemetery at Cameron under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau. 

Pallbearers will be Bill Caldwell, Charlie Joe Sweazy, Derrick Potter, Charles Sweazy, Darrell Farquaar and Ken Whitehead. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Potter, Ronnie Potter, Bryan Hancock and Larry Hancock. 
 
William Lee Potter, 78, of Cameron, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at Pocola. He was born June 8, 1924 at Cameron. He was a retired pastor. He married Eugena Glidwell on June 9, 1945 at Hackett, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57-1/2 years on Nov. 12, 2002; his parents, Sam and Ethel Potter; two sisters, Reba Nichols and Rosa Mae Scroggins; three brothers, Lawrence, James and Austin Potter.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Ray and Marilyn Potter of Van Buren, Ark. and Virgil Lee and Barbara Potter of Oak Island, N.C.; two daughters, Mildred Inez and Charles Sweazy of Payson, Ariz. and Mary Ruth and Billy Caldwell of Poteau; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margie Fay Hancock of Poteau, Fred Huggins of Shady Point and Loeta Corley of Coweta; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.

The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 25 to visit with relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at Greenhill Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs. Scott Chance and Jackie Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Cemetery at Cameron under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

Pallbearers will be Derrick Potter, Charley Sweazy, Jimmy Potter, Ken Whitehead, Darrell Farquhar and Ronnie Potter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Hancock, Larry Hancock, Bill Caldwell, Charlie Joe Sweazy and Harold Sweazy.
