Don Odom

SPIRO — Don Odom, 76, of Spiro died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, in Spiro. He was a retired Spiro firefighter and a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of First United Methodist Church, VFW, American Legion and Spiro Chamber of Commerce.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church with burial at Spiro City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.

He is survived by his wife, Bettie; two sons, Donnie and David Odom, both of Spiro; two brothers, Jack and Lawrence Odom, both of Heavener; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Neil Perrin, Jim West, Robert Roland, Wendell Mills, Mark Cox, Robert Sheffield, Jerry Smith and Jim Whitehead.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to United Methodist Church of Spiro or Gideons.

Don Odom, 76, of Spiro, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003. He was born Oct. 29, 1926 at Heavener to Lon and Marie Smith Odom. He was a general contractor. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, VFW, American Legion, Spiro Chamber of Commerce, was a retired Spiro firefighter and a World War II Navy veteran.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Lonetta Roop.

Survivors include his wife Bettie of the home; two sons, Donnie Odom and wife Patsy and David Odom and wife Shelia, all of Spiro; two brothers, Jack Odom and Lawrence Odom, both of Heavener; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Janice Meese officiating. Burial will follow in Spiro City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.

Military rites conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4446, Stigler.

Memorials may be made to the Spiro First United Methodist Church or the Gideons.
