Billy (Pooch) Newby Sr., 61, of Fanshawe, passed away Friday, May 30, 2003, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born Dec. 30, 1941 in Fanshawe to Dewey and Mabel (Holderfield) Newby. He was self-employed as a brick mason. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include two sons, Billy Newby Jr. and wife Teresa of Poteau and David Roderick of California; two daughters, Teresa Kendrick of California and Terri Seay of Big Cabin; three brothers, Donald Newby of Spiro; Johnny Newby of Van Buren, Ark. and Robert Newby of Lequire; eight grandchildren; and many beloved family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7 at the LeFlore Cemetery under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
