Margaret A. 'Peggy' Lowrey, 87, of Tulsa, formerly of Poteau, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2003. She was born March 16, 1916 at Poteau. She was a homemaker and the granddaughter of Poteau pioneers, Dr. and Mrs. Monroe Plumlee and Mrs. Lela Bagwell McClure. In earlier years she was active in the PTA with her children, the Hospital Guild for her husband, the Twentieth Century Club and other civic organizations. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Poteau. She was a member of the Chi Omega Society at the University of Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. John and Ora (Williams) Plumlee; and her husband, Dr. Robert W. Lowrey.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Lynda Frank and Howard of Broken Arrow; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert W. Lowrey II and Judy of Poteau; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of beloved friends.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 30 at the First Christian Church in Poteau with the Rev. Steve Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
