Sarah Beatrice Jones, 74, of Panama, passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003. She was born Sept. 25, 1928 at Buck Creek. She was a nurse in the hospital and home health industry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Geather and Loretta (Clark) Anderson; three brothers, Jack, Geather and Pete; and one granddaughter, Sabrina Chenault.

Survivors include her husband William "Babe" Jones of the home; two daughters, Karen Jones of Owasso and Patricia Nelson of Panama; three sons, James Irvin Jones of the home, Jack Jones of Panama and Donald Jones of Spiro; four sisters, Freda Bandoni of Panama, Kathleen Archey of Shady Point, and Reba Merritt and Maxine Shipley, both of Eureka, Ill.; two brothers, Harold Anderson of Eureka, Ill and J.D. Anderson of Washington, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Inez Anderson and Beatrice Anderson; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26 at Fairview Cemetery in Panama with the Rev. Jim Cook officiating, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Nelson, Billy Potter, Perry Hale, Harvey Crase, David Carson and Coy Simpson. Honorary pallbearer will be Paul Wells.
