Guy Gilliam, 91, of Shady Point, formerly of Heavener, passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, in Poteau. He was born March 15, 1911 at Cornersville, Miss. He moved to Oklahoma at the age of nine. He worked in the CC Camp and became a TV repairman in Heavener where he resided for 40 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Heavener where he was a member of the Men's Sunday School Class. He loved his family and his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Delphia Breeding Gilliam of Heavener; and his parents, Marion and Mattie Gilliam of Heavener.

Survivors include his wife Lovia Gilliam of the home; two sons, Jerry Gilliam of Howe and Gerald Gilliam of Poteau; two daughters, Betty Hemby of Heavener and Janice Gilliam-England of the home; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Rea Silva of Warren, Mich. and Mary Lee Brown of Bear Hollow, Ark.; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17 at Evans Chapel of Memories at Poteau with Pete Butler, Del Glenn and the Rev. John Blue officiating. Burial followed at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

Pallbearers were Jamie Gilliam, Kevin Gilliam, Don Wooten, Greg Baker, Harold Woods and Cody Wagner.
